The Great War Tour (Giro della Grande Guerra) is an impressive ski circuit through the Dolomites that takes you along historic battlefields. Various towns to the east and south of the Sella Massif serve as ideal starting points, including Arabba, Corvara, or San Cassiano, as well as Val Gardena.
Spanning over 80 kilometers of slopes, the Great War Tour runs through seven Dolomiti Superski areas and three provinces, passing by historically significant locations. Let our ski guides accompany you and experience the ski paradise of the Dolomites from a completely new perspective.

Day 1: Marmolada – Alleghe
We start in Val Gardena and ski across the Sella Pass into the ski areas of Arabba, located not far from the historic Col di Lana. After a wonderful descent down the Marmolada—the highest peak in the Dolomites—the day ends in the charming village of Alleghe. Here, we have the opportunity to unwind far away from the busy slopes.
Day 2: Cortina, 5 Torri, and Lagazuoi
On the second day, a short taxi ride takes us to the small, almost nostalgic ski area of the 5 Torri. The panoramic views are breathtaking, and it is hard to imagine that over 100 years ago, battles were fought here in the freezing cold. We then take the cable car up to Lagazuoi, where one of the most beautiful ski runs in the entire Dolomites awaits us. Finally, we return to Val Gardena via the Alta Badia valley.
We recommend splitting the Great War Tour over two days. However, for very advanced skiers, the circuit can also be completed in a single day during the low season. Our mountain guides will be happy to accompany you or your group on this faster version as well.
