The Roda di Vael via ferrata in the Catinaccio group, high above the Karer Pass, is one of the most popular via ferratas in the Dolomites (South Tyrol). It is easily accessible from the Paolina Hut and the Roda di Vael Hut. The ascent offers a varied alpine landscape and a free-standing summit at 2,806 m with panoramic views.
The Roda di Vael features two via ferrata routes along the north and south ridges, both technically easy, with only short steep sections. This makes the tour ideal as a first via ferrata experience for beginners. The traverse forms a beautiful full-day mountain tour and still leaves time to relax on a hut terrace, especially since the Paolina lift spares you the demanding final descent.
Join a mountain guide from the Catores Alpine School and enjoy a safe ascent of the impressive Roda di Vael.
